Early Feedback

The characters are written with so much complexity that I feel like I know them in and out. Some books have difficult backgrounds thrown in for good measure, but their backgrounds were pivotal in the story line. ~ Laura Barnard Author

This is the first book I have read by Hayley Oakes, it will definitely not be the last. You can’t help but fall in love with her characters from the off. They are both well written and you get drawn to them, you can feel the emotional battles they have as if they were happening in front of you. ~ Goodreads Reviews

About The Author

photo Author Image_zpswlywuwoe.jpg

I have been writing stories from a very young age. My very first tool, at the age of ten, was an electric typewriter that my Dad saved from being thrown away at work. I tapped away on that for hours and hours.
I have always told stories and written stories and my favourite ones are the ones that people have told me. I collect peoples’ lives in my head, storing the most interesting and wacky anecdotes that I utilise without even realising.
I also collect mannerisms and when I’m with someone for long periods of time I start copying their facial expressions and habits. It’s a curse but I am a natural mimic.
I love life and love making people laugh.

The sun was beginning to set and the bright day had begun to dissipate as dusk slowly fell over the Culver Hills village center, if one could really call it a village in the middle of Los Angeles. The air grew dense and musty. All the street lamps were off except one, which flickered in a slow, steady beat. Only a small number of cars cruised the road as the kids walked down Main Street toward where the Foxworthy Hotel was perched at the top of the hill. This dark stillness was not usual for this time of day. Something was off.

“Get off me!” The voice filled Isabella’s ear a block away from the hotel trolley stop. Her gut tore in two with fear. ”Give that back.”

Isabella slowed down to see Cleo marching back toward the same two bullies she’d rescued Pythian from the other day, one of whom had Xander by the shirt collar as the other was rummaging through Xander’s backpack. Cleo’s shoes lay in a clump.

“There are so many goodies in here. Gum drops. Chocolate snatches. Debbie cakes. And my personal favorite—this camcorder. Oh, wait… no. There’s a little digital camera, too. Looks like Christmas came early for us. Isn’t that right, Sloane?”

“Put my brother down, or you’ll be sorry,” Cleo shouted.

As requested, the boy shoved Xander, sending him tumbling into a nearby thorn bush. “Ahhrrk!” Cleo went straight to his side.

It looked like the kid with Xander’s backpack might consider going for Cleo’s purse, but before that could happen, the other boy, Sloane, said, “Dude, let’s get outta here.” Seth, who was bigger and taller than both of them, and Isabella, whose nostrils flared like a lion, hustled after them.

“I know those guys,” Isabella told Seth.

“Go back and stay with Cleo,” he said.

“Watch me, Superman.”

They looped around the corner as the bullies flew up the service road that led to the back of the hotel. Before they could get too far, four figures in black appeared; from where, Isabella could not tell. Two grabbed the boys. Another took Xander’s backpack. Seth and Isabella both stopped. Cold licked Isabella’s heart. Not an eerie cold, but like a soothing glass of cold lemonade on a scorching day in July.

“What do we do?” Isabella whispered.

“I would tell you to go back, but you’d just make too much noise arguing with me, so I say just shut up.”

“If you tell me to shut up one more time…”

“Not now.”

The two figures holding the boys seemed to melt into the darkness of the trees.

“Where the hell did they go?” Seth asked, protectively pushing Isabella behind him.

She did not fight it. She was starting to become frightened, less of the situation and more of herself. Things had been off more than usual today. For the first time since her parents’ death, she’d felt completely protected, and she wasn’t sure it was all due to the necklace she had been wearing. It was so bizarre.

She was attuned to Cleo and Xander, who were usually never around at the holidays because, like her friend Lana, their parents traveled at that time. She’d felt everything from them: Xander’s exhaustion; Cleo’s boredom and overprotectiveness of her brother. The Logan brothers, however, were different. One minute, she felt Micah’s agitation with Xander, but the next, it would grow cold. And Seth—that boy, she couldn’t get a handle on at all. The only thing she got a sense of was fierce protection, particularly for Micah, but for her as well. She really did not know why.

That was never part of it; she had never felt the direction of a person’s emotions until now. She’d never felt so hot and cold about it. The five of them, connected by a string. It made no sense. Why would she be connected to these random kids?

The two figures in black who had stayed behind whispered to each other. Seth stepped to the side, taking Isabella with him. ”We should go back.”
But he was too late. The men had spotted them and were heading their way. Neither Seth nor Isabella dared to move. In an instant, the tallest of the figures, a young man of about twenty, stood before them. His skin was a beautiful caramel color, his eyes a startling green, and his hair—Isabella saw, as he pushed the hood off his head, he had a nest of shiny curls. He wore a goatee, and his eyes drooped with intellect.

“Declan Timothy. This is Max.” He thumbed at the guy behind him. “Just wanted to give this back to the kid.”

He pushed the backpack into Isabella’s arms. Her vocal cords decided to twist into a knot, so she was unable to say thank you.

“And to tell you to be careful. Tonight is going to change things for you.”

That did it. No more evil cats holding her tongue hostage. “What the heck does that mean?”

“You’ll see. If you need us, ask Theophilus where to find us.”

“Wait a minute,” Seth said, pinning Declan with a heated gaze. “Who are you guys?”

“The Midnight Brotherhood. Be careful, Isabella. And you—make sure she listens.”

“Sure,” Seth replied.

Then they, too, faded into the night.

Seth and Isabella looked at each other, not saying a word. For some reason, words did not seem appropriate at that moment.

When they returned to their friends, Seth spoke quietly as Isabella returned Xander’s backpack to him. “Let’s go home.”

The trolley was nowhere in sight, which was more evidence to Isabella that something was not right. From the bottom of the hill, the hotel was as dim and desolate as it had appeared from the center of the village. With heavy legs, they began up the hill. They climbed the front steps and walked into the lobby. Candlelight dotted the room. Elyse was the first person to approach them; her waitress apron was undone, her hair out of place.

“Thank God you’re all right.”

“What’s going on?” Isabella asked.

“I…” Elyse burst into tears.

“Elyse, tell us now! What happened?”

Elyse wiped her face. “I don’t really know. Everything blacked out for a while. It went cold, and I got really tired. It almost felt like I fell asleep for a while, but then when I woke up, I was standing in the same place I had been before. Right inside the Lily Field ballroom. And then—”

Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Young Adult

Sadie Reynolds is a liar with secrets. At school, she’s part of the popular crowd known as AE, despite being broken inside. She hides it well. She has to. The slightest bit of imperfection will land her in the same shoes as her Geeky neighbor named Ian.

Ian and his only friend are the object of Sadie’s friends’ ridicule, ire, and entertainment. The AE rule the school with intimidation and retribution against anyone who would dare question their supremacy.

Sadie steers clear of most of it, terrified someone will find out her secret. She isn’t the least bit perfect. In fact, she suffers from PTSD stemming from the murder of her mother right before her eyes when she was a child. She can barely cope from day-to-day, hiding her truth and trying to fit in. But she knows it’s only a matter of time.

Hayden is a “Waverly,” a kid with the misfortune of living in the small farming town of Waverly that borders the very affluent Lexington Parrish. The AE doesn’t mix with “Waverlies.” Ever.

Desperate to get away from her oppressive friends, Sadie crashes into Hayden at a bonfire and the attraction that sparks between them is nothing short of electric. But Hayden’s an outsider and when things heat up, Sadie will be forced to choose between her friends and her new boyfriend.

Only Queen Bee Britt isn’t having it. She will not allow Sadie to cross her. Sadie can either do what Britt wants her to do or she will reveal Sadie for the PTSD freak that she is.

Sadie does some soul searching about who she is and who she wants to be. She can’t live her life like this. Not any more. One fateful night will help her see how much things have to change.

She’s determined to no longer allow the AE to rule her life. She will be strong, stand up for Ian and love who she wants in Hayden. Determined and invigorated, Sadie goes to school feeling hopeful for the first time in forever.

But, the unthinkable happens.

Shooters attack dozens of students before the two eventually take their own lives, leaving the school a decimated shadow of what it once was.

Suddenly who lives where, wears what or loves whom seems like the least of Lexington Parish’s problems as everyone and everything changes forever in the after.

IN THE AFTER by Elisa Dane is a hard-hitting and heart-warming story of tragedy, love, loss and redemption. It is recommended for readers 14+.

Excerpt: (Prologue to the WitchBlood series - WitchFire)

Brooke looked about her. The trees were mainly evergreen firs, tall and
skinny, with prickly trunks and branches that deterred even the most
desperate climber, but the forest floor was softer, covered with dry pine
needles that clung to her clothing. Remembering the fall, she tentatively
touched her head where it felt tender and found a small bump. She looked
down at her now filthy hands, where she confirmed that her skin had indeed
been grazed badly by the bark. Wincing as she pulled herself upright, she
decided to explore a little, and that was when she noticed the trees were
letting much more light in from one side of the forest than the other. A
little way behind her the trees began to spread out, meadow grass and
bluebells beginning to encroach upon the shadows.

Cautiously she moved towards what seemed to be the edge of the forest,
stopping every few steps to listen, but everything was still and silent, too
silent. She found a dense bit of thorny shrub enclosed by a couple of firs
right on the edge of the meadow and crawled in, so she could check out her
new surroundings in relative safety. Moving a couple of spiky branches, she
peered through the forest line and into a small meadow which was totally
enclosed by woodland. She could hear the babbling of a stream somewhere
close, and as she scanned the farthest edge of the meadow she realised that
tucked into the shadows of the wood stood a small log cabin.

As her attention was drawn to the cabin, a blonde girl of what must have
been a similar age to herself opened the door, furtively glancing about. She
seemed to look directly at Brooke before shooting out from the doorway and
darting around the back, disappearing into the woods behind. She appeared to
be dressed in a strangely old-fashioned grey nightdress of some sort, yet
that seemed odd in the middle of the forest. There was something
recognisable about the girl, with her mid-length wavy hair, but she couldn’t
quite place it and she’d only caught a fleeting glimpse.

The door had slammed behind the girl and a couple of minutes later, just as
Brooke considered leaving her hiding place and venturing over to the
cottage, she once again heard a rustling in the forest behind her. She
crouched lower in the bush, feeling the thorns stabbing her bare arms and
neck. Just as she flattened herself out and held her breath, men dressed in
a familiar black appeared on either side of her.

Review & Previous Praise:

~~ 1 ~~ Read it, read it now!

~~ 2 ~~

I only recently discovered Emma Mills and decided that since we share the
same name I'd give her books a try. I went through the Witchblood series and
Flying with Fire within a matter of days. Emma writes in a way that draws
you in from the opening sentences. Her books are full of action and the
addition of a brooding hero always adds to the attraction.
Flying with Fire is a prequel to the Witchblood series, but you do not need
to have read them to know what's going on (although I highly recommend

About Author:

Emma Mills is a stay-at-home mum. She shares her home with her husband, two children, a dog, 3 cats, a house rabbit and a tankful of fish. Once her youngest child started school she began to write.

WitchBlood was published in January 2012, swiftly followed by WitchCraft and WitchLove. Emma published what she had intended to be the finale of the series, WitchHunt, a week after moving her family south to Somerset, in November 2013. A prequel to the series, WitchFire, followed in 2014.

However, after fans began asking for more, a plan began to develop. The Witchblood Series didn’t feel finished, so WitchWar was born. Emma says now that she has written WitchWar, she feels that the series is complete. WitchWar is set ten years after WitchHunt. It has everything you want from a supernatural final book: fear, heartbreak and resolution.

“I received this eCopy from the author in exchange for an honest review. As Always This is in no way affected my opinion of the book, or the content of my review.”

I deeply enjoyed this short story; I’m still chuckling over the silliness of it.

It’s not about how predictable this short story is (because it is) but about the sweetness of it, the humor, sarcasm, and probably the passion between the two main characters.

Gaah, I’m still recovering, now I want more of Melinda and mysterious sexy guy.

If you’re looking for something Christmassy, short, passionate…then this little story is your perfect fix.

Trust me; it’ll leave a long lasting smile on your face for the rest of your day!

Now the reason why I haven’t given this a 5 STARS is because it was (at times) a little bit exaggerated, but enough to exasperate me. Otherwise I liked it very much.

Oblivion by J.L.Armentrout

Oblivion - Jennifer L. Armentrout
Book: Oblivion
Serie : Lux #1.5
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Genre: Upper YA Paranormal Romance
Edition:Kindle Edition, 1005 pages

Angry rant/ Review

Truthfully I was pretty excited when I heard that JLA was going to release a new book on the lux series, and when I heard it was from Daemon point of view I might’ve pierced my brother’s ear drums from screaming and squealing loudly. Because guys, this is Daemon Black we’re talking about the hot sexy alien living next door, the tragic asshole that stole my heart at 16 years old, my first book boyfriend EVER!

But….. but……. BUT……

I thought that this would have something refreshing, have something I didn’t already know.  Maybe new freaking scenes!!

God I’m disappointed, probably a little pissed.

It’s not that I didn’t like it. The first book was pretty decent. Those Katy-Daemon scenes were everything that I remembered and loved, funny, snarky, hot…. I really missed them. But by the end of the first I realized that there was nothing, absolutely nothing interesting happening and when I got the  2nd and 3rd book I pretty much was like (read a couple of pages, then skip. Skip. Skip. Read a couple more then skip. Skip. Skip…..) To the point where I finished them in mere hours!

Maybe to someone else who did not read the series before they might’ve appreciate this book more, I honestly don’t get why this book was published if it was just to make the exact same replica of Obsidian, this is….. *no offense to the author* but the general idea is pretty dumb.

This is a waste of money and energy AND time for the author and readers who already read the lux series.

I can’t decide for those who haven’t read the serie.

But if you want to try this serie then I advise you to start with the original one, obsidian. There’s more mystery and excitement over there than this one.

Again, I don’t get why this book was published. Who freaking approved of this?!

NOTE TO PUBLISHERS: this is wrong and those covers are F***ING UGLY!!!

Because it’s time for the dragon marked to rise.

“I received this from netGalley in exchange for an honest review. This is in no way affected my opinion of the book, or the content of my review.”

I’ve read too many paranormal books, and I’ve seen all kind of them. That’s why it’s hard for one to impress me in any way. However this one exceeded my expectation, I’m literarily in love, and very pumped to pick up the next one!

This book has that touch of originality in it, it’s hard to gather all the supernatural in one book and give them enough balance that no one would shadow the other.

I found the plot twists very interesting, even unexpected at times, by mid story I found myself on the edge of my seat and Impatient for what’s next.

As for the love interest in this one, love triangle... quadrangle? it might even be in every angle .I can’t decide. But it’s so humorous that you can’t get annoyed by it.

I don’t ship that often but I stand with the dragon and I’m committed.

Guys READ IT!! You’ll understand!

Overall, There’s Humor, snark, love, betrayal, drama, friendship, family, Odd attraction. You’ll be constantly entertained.

Crystallum by Laney McMann
(Primordial Principles #1)

Publication date: October 25th 2015
Genre: Urban Fantasy, Young Adult

Kadence Sparrow wasn’t born a devil’s child—she was turned into one. Now, she’s hiding from the truth, and running for her life.

For years, Kade’s true nature has lurked behind an illusion, so when her dad gets another job transfer, she knows the drill: no close friends, no boyfriends, and most importantly: don’t expose what she is. Ever. Keeping secrets is easy. Lies are second nature. So is the loneliness—and the fear, but when the Shadows attack, and Kade meets Cole Spires, she could expose everything she’s trying to hide.

As one of the Celestial Children, Cole lives by an oath: defend the Ward, protect the Primordial race, guard the gateways, and stick to his own. Everything else is a distraction, and besides, he’s lost enough. Cole’s job is clear, and no one his age does it better. So, when he meets Kade in a club downtown, he assumes she just wants his attention. Most girls do, but Cole soon realizes … Kade isn’t like most girls.

The children of heaven and hell are living among us, fighting an age-old war. And falling for someone from the opposition is not an option. But a chance encounter between Kade and Cole will blur the rules, as Kade’s journey to keep her truth hidden catapults them together and into a web of lies, forcing her to not only face the demon inside her, but to answer the hardest question of all.

Which is thicker—blood or water?

PLUMB STOOD in the driveway, hands on her hips, a piece of bright yellow paper in her hand. Cole groaned, exhausted, as he made his way toward her. The only light was a dim one above the door on the Brotherhood's front porch.

Plumb waved the paper in the air. "It's four fifteen in the morning, and I'm afraid to even venture why I received a notice for you to appear in front of the Warden later today. And Danny has nothing to say, which could only mean one thing—" Plumb looked him up and down. "With the condition you're in, I'm not sure I want to know where you've been."

"You probably don't." Cole held his hand out for the summons.

Plumb handed the paper over, scowling, and Cole slipped it, unopened, into his pocket.

"Are you going to tell me where you've been?"

"Thought you didn't want to know." He walked toward the porch. There was a time, when Cole was much younger, that he never would have spoken so bluntly to his Lead, but those days, buried by all of his new responsibilities within the Ward, had faded. They were close to equals now, even though Plumb was about fifteen years older.

"I'm tired as hell. I've been up all night." He turned to face her. "Okay? I need to get some sleep."

"What were you doing in the middle of the night that the Principals couldn't handle?"

"A girl."

"Excuse me?”

"No...I, no, I wasn't doing a girl. She just...never mind." He headed for the door, flustered. The last thing he needed to do was think about Kadence like that. His brain already went into some kind of jumble every time her name was mentioned, and it was bad enough that she'd had her hands all over him.

“You were with Tiffany? Until four in the morning?" Plumb sounded like a disapproving mother. "Cole, I understand you're seventeen, and boys—"

"I was with Kadence." He wished she would shut up.

Stupid cover idea...

Cover Issue

I don't know why publishers/cover designers think if they put an eye on the cover, it would make the book much more appealing. And not just any eye, but one big CREEPY shadowed eye staring straight at your soul

This is wrong, I mean just look at it!

And you know what? The cover was NOT traumatizing enough, but they felt the "need" to add it to the spine. Like WHY?

Now how am I going to enjoy looking at my shelf with these devil's eyes tracing my EVERY move? Just How?

OMG, why am I always late to these fandoms ??!!

« Each day means a new twenty-four hours. Each day means everything's possible again. You live in the moment, you die in the moment, you take it all one day at a time.»

WHY HAVEN’T I READ THIS BOOK EARLIER??!! (Listening to this, is waay much better)

Day’s voice while flirting or having that devil may care attitude is…. Gaah No appropriate words (looked up the narrator, and he’s about 50-60 yrs old O.o better not describing it) *blush*

Anyway this book is amazing, like it had such an epic concept, oh my I’m still on withdrawal I need to listen to the next now (already started it).

This is a dystopian trilogy set on this futuristic world where America is divided into two the Republic of America (supposedly the good guys) and the colonies (which are the rebellious guys and supposedly bad). And it’s told from a dual point of view : Day the most wanted criminal in America and June the prodigy, she is being groomed for success in the Republic's highest circles.

Now, when I started listening to this book I didn’t read the synopsis, I just knew the general idea above.

And I guess I should have, so I wouldn’t be affected on Matias's death. OMG that killed me.

I wasn’t even 10% in the book and I already started aching and crying like a baby.

The narration and writing was soo good that I couldn’t help but get unvested in the story.

This book would make such an incredible movie; it’s perfect, not too long and visually exciting.

The none stop action; break out scenes, leaps, stunts, the whole book is exciting.

And not only that, but it had the most strong, intelligent, logical main characters. I’m looking forward to prodigy, and what it has in store for me. *EXCITED*

Exclusive Interviews with cover Artist:

Meril’s Q&A:

What program do you use to create your artwork?

I use various tools to create artwork. When starting out with ideas I prefer making them on my sketchbook first, not minding specific details and just having fun with idea generation and doodling. This is the stage we call ‘thumbnails’. The next step I usually use the digital media to finalize the thumbnails, but sometimes I go straight out and sketch my favorite thumbnail to turn into a finished linesketch. As such, all my finished artworks are painted and done in Adobe Photoshop (CC 2014, currently), along with my old and trusted Wacom Intuos 4.

What’s your background? Did you study art in school?

I finished university in 2014 with a degree of Bachelor of Finearts, Major in Advertising Arts. My Alma Mater is the University of Santo Tomas here in Manila, Philippines. The course I took focused on graphic design, branding and marketing for agencies, which is a very good background to have in any art industry. During our 3rd year to 4th year we had special classes we called ‘Electives’, which are basically specialized classes, this was the time I decided on focusing more on digital painting and illustration, rather than going into graphic designing, so I took electives related to my chosen field. By the time I got to the thesis phase, which is the final requirement before finishing the course, I decided to take on Book Illustration. I’ve learnt many things from my background that if it weren’t for it I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do the same things I’m doing right now.

What attracted you to doing the covers for the AIR AWAKENS series?

The AIR AWAKENS series was my very first book cover series. I’m not going to lie that I first took interest on the project because it was an opportunity for me to finally work on the book industry. Any artist starting out would be uncontrollably excited when offered a project as such. And THEN I read the story, read about the characters, got to know an amazing client and author, a friend, and so there lies my true answer. It was the perfect project for me, I loved the world, I loved the characters and I loved the idea behind it all. And so I wanted to make sure that I make it very special.

What is your favorite cover so far?

That’s hard to say. I loved all of it so far! (Or I’m being extremely biased, because well, I worked hard on all of them! haha) But if I’m being asked as an artist I would probably say the first cover. It was simple, straight to the point, saying, ‘Hey, this is Vhalla, the Heroine for this amazing world/story’. I like covers that has that iconic, unique feeling to it and so I would say that the first cover definitely did it for this series.

(Without any spoilers) What did you like about the third book in the AIR AWAKENS series: Earth’s End?

Earth’s End is my favorite of the 3 books so far and my main reason is that it felt like everything was coming down together, finally! Especially for Vhalla. I loved the Vhalla in this book. The character has developed into something much more and although she’s still probably transitioning, she’s finally getting there. In general what I liked about Earth’s End is that there’s more action, more storyline focused on Vhalla and her world, there were more things learned about the other characters too such as Baldair, among many others. Elise has outdone herself with this one.

What’s one thing that you think would surprise people about the process of creating the AIR AWAKENS covers? Or, one thing people may not know?

Elise has always told me that she and her author friends never expect their artist to read the whole manuscript. And I read the whole thing because well, I just couldn’t help it. I have become very attached! She says I make the most ‘official-est’ fanart ever and I agree.

Fire Falling Release Tour Banner

Holy mother Sun! I'm starstruck. This is what I'd like to call a gorgeous sequel. Dare I say it, it might even top Air Awakes

This was an exceptional sequel. I loved it so much! I feel like the series has more of a direction, which is exciting. I'm still processing what happened in this book, because THINGS HAPPENS.

“I received this eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. As Always This is in no way affected my opinion of the book, or the content of my review.”

Air Awakens series is a YA fantasy written in 3rdPOV from the perspective of  Vhalla Yarl, prior librarian and newly discovered sorcerer, but not any sorcerer.

 A windwalker.

 An air controller.

A creationist of illusion and disguise.

She is considered a powerful asset in the war, rare but also feared and envied.  With that comes enimie. And many wants her death.

After unfortunate events and deception in the first book Vhalla was brought before a trial that sentenced her for life. Oh not death, it would’ve been too merciful

Vhalla is property of the Emperor now; he’s favorite pawn and ultimate weapon at gaining the war

. A killing machine.

In this sequel the story was pretty predictable compared to the first one; there was some minor twists and death. However it contained more magic and fights. And we got to see new places in the empire and meet new personage.

Basically the book was divided in three parts which I like to call first the journey then the rest/preparation and finally the war.

It started off as slow but the pace picks up right after the journey, interesting matters start happening, and OH BOY it happens!

I loved how characters were put out of their comfort zone. some where forced out of it and others did it out of pure devotion, love and friendship (Larel and Fritz, I love them both to no end)

Vhalla’s growth was exceptional; in the first book she started out like any other normal character but by the end of fire falling it’s hard to believe that they are the same person..

"She'd wanted to become someone the Senate would fear, why not shatter the sky?"

She truly kept her promise; she is the second most who amazed me on this sequel.

As for the first, you would be surprise that I would say its Baldair, yes HIM. I was never his fan probably never will be but what a thoughtful guy! And Sweet. I’m weary about his motives, he’s just so darn perfect, and perfect guys don’t exist I’m still waiting for the shoe to drop. Seriously.

Aldrik on the other hand is very unique. I love the mystery he projects, his unnerving composure, wide knowledge and infinite wisdom. The dormant power he harness is so enthralling that (and I know this is bad to say) but I want him to just snap and show the extent of his instability.

Now there was some characters I was very annoyed with. Which made question why were they even there? but of course it just adds to the plot line. *caugh-whispers* Elicia

We also get more insight on that unbreakable magic bond Vhalla and Aldrick share, usually I’m dismissive of bonds as a cliché attempt on forging relationships but Elise just thrown that fact out of the window, honestly I’m both excited and TERRIFIED of this one.

It doesn’t just affect them on a psych/emotional level but further, I noticed some drastic changes, some are good and beneficial but others are just terribly bad, it makes me so nervous.

The love interest is very clear from the first book; I love how it’s solidified and defined in this one. We know where everyone stands and who Vhalla chooses.

« I don't want your brother, my dear Prince Aldrick C. Solaris. Not every creature with breasts thinks Prince Baldair is a god among men.»

I second THAT.

It makes me very contempt about the outcome.

It's very engaging and exciting. It's a mix between Poison Study by V.E. Snyder and Throne Of Glass by S.J. Maas. If you love either of these then you should definitely check this one out!!

Overall, this book had more action, more magic, more adventure, more surprises and secrets, no love triangle, stupendous character development and a well placed twist at the end no one could have expected .

Heir to the Crown - Ember Shane

This part cracked me up, the character mentioned Twilight so I had to share it!

"Are you watching Twilight?" His lips twitched with a hint of a smile. "Addy, am I not monster enough for you? You know he sparkles, right?"

Still smiling :D ! ---------'

The Girl Who Ignored Ghosts (The Unbelievables Book #1) - K.C. Tansley

Kat Preston doesn’t believe in ghosts. Not because she’s never seen one, but because she saw one too many. Refusing to believe is the only way to protect herself from the ghost that tried to steal her life. Kat’s disbelief keeps her safe until her junior year at McTernan Academy, when a research project for an eccentric teacher takes her to a tiny, private island off the coast of Connecticut.

The site of a grisly mystery, the Isle of Acacia is no place for a girl who ignores ghosts, but the ghosts leave Kat little choice. Accompanied by her research partner, Evan Kingsley, she investigates the disappearance of Cassie Mallory and Sebastian Radcliffe on their wedding night in 1886. Evan’s scientific approach to everything leaves Kat on her own to confront a host of unbelievables: ancestral curses, powerful spells, and her strange connection to the ghosts that haunt Castle Creighton.

But that’s all before Kat’s yanked through a magic portal and Evan follows her. When the two of them awaken 129 years in the past with their souls trapped inside the bodies of two wedding guests, everything changes. Together, Kat and Evan race to stop the wedding-night murders and find a way back to their own time—and their own bodies—before their souls slip away forever.

“I received this from netGalley in exchange for an honest review. This is in no way affected my opinion of the book, or the content of my review.”

The story is quite enjoyable, intriguing in some aspects.
But as interesting the plot was I still had issues with the book, it was soo frustratingly slow, it lost it focus on the main cause and drifted off to tell other events without any results. It was implied that Kat could’ve done something many times, Or at least improvised. But she did nothing; she just cowered behind her search partner Evan and just waitedwined her death.
And how the hell could Evan have that much control whilst the other (as it was told many time that she was strong) loose it every single time?

As for the character,in my opinion were not well harmonized, it’s like watching a movie where the story is interesting but unfortunately played by bad actorscharacters.
I can’t follow their conversation, attitude…ect, I’m always rolling my or puffing my irritation with them.

Overall, I'm Glad we got more insight on the murder, to know the victims, main suspects, their heritage, unraveling all the mystery. But the drama was too much for my liking.

I really enjoyed this one, I love happy endings and a book full of romance!

"I was sent an E-Copy directly from the author; this has in no way affected my review or its content."

This is an adult fantasy romance, winter’s Bride book one in The Elders of the Seasons

I finished this book a week ago, I really can’t find time to sit and actually write instead of constantly daydreaming about my reads shakes head college really isn’t an easy step in life… trust me (especially for future engineers ;) )

Moving on, I was warned by the author, and it’s my turn to warn you that this is in fact a hot steamy romance, but in my opinion it wasn’t that explicit, instead (intimate interaction aside) I found it really cute .

Dawn is a very honest character, her innocence is shown from the very first page so you can’t get annoyed by her decision nor her feeling (yes they are a bit over the top but still understandable) but it’s clear she’s not dumb but ruled by her feelings for the big bad lord. Still adorable.

The most intriguing and confusing character in this book was the Autumn lord, I can’t decide if his action/ thinking is sane or if he was faking it. Like, WHAT ? (O.o)

He seems to understand but doesn’t act on it or do it in a complete unlogical dumbest way possible…. (but* whispers* he’s hot, and has the attitude so I want to know more) the guy is difinitly something and I’m glad his story is next. It’s going to be better than this one I can tell.

The story had a steady pace, nothing was rushed but was presented event after another, there isn’t much to the story but you still get attached to these characters. it was beautifully written that even if you see it coming it still hurts, like really bad, It got my heart aching for a couple of chapters and some others got it to almost burst from happiness.
